If you haven't already heard, things have been crazy over the past month! We relocated back to San Francisco and have been settling in! I'm buried in boxes, but promise to post next week with more pics from Hayden's first Christmas, our trip to LA, Hayden's b-day and more!

Eight Months Old: Photo - Happy Halloween!

Arghhhhh Matey! Here's Hayden at the pumpkin patch on his first Halloween! (only two days after his surgery!!)

Eight Months Old - Hayden has Surgery

When Hayden was born we noticed a small "bump" on his right temple. It turns out it was a dermoid cyst. When he was three months old he had it looked at by a plastic surgeon and surgery was scheduled for October. They wanted to wait until he was at least seven months old so that the effects of the anaesthesia wouldn't be as risky.

Grandma Jean flew out for the surgery and we all sat anxiously as Hayden went in to th eoperating room. We were told that he'd only have to be under for less than an hour, but it was the longest hour of our lives!

To remove the cyst, the surgeon made a small incision in his eyelid and went up under his brow to do the removal. This way, the scar will be nearly undetectable when his eye is open.

"Your little pumpkin did great!" were the first words out of the doctor when she came to find us in the waiting room. In the recovery room he was a little fussy for only about fifteen minutes, but mostly just because he hadn't eaten anything in over 12 hours.

That night he smiled, laughed, played with his get well balloon from Tita Jo Jo and
acted as if nothing had happened! For the next few days his eye was a little swollen and black and blue but Hayden just kept smiling.

Eight Months Old: Photo - All Ready to Head to Europe

We headed to Europe with Hayden on October 5th (his eight month birthday) for ten days! Visiting Germany, Austria, and France, Hayden is becoming a world traveler!

After about 16 hours of flying and waiting in airports, we finally arrived in Germany!

We visited a small medieval town in Germany called Rotenburg. Here we are outside the Kathe Wohlfahrt - Weihnachtsdorf (Chritsmas Store and Museum).

We had LOTS of help in Europe! We traveled with 8 other family members who were more than happy to lend a helping hand!

It was colder than we thought it would be in Germany! We bought Hayden this adult sized hat at the Neuschwanstein Castle in southern Germany (this is the castle upon which Disney Castle's design is based).
